Fire destroys boat at Stony Point Bay Marina

A fire early Monday morning destroyed one boat at the Stony Point Bay Marina.

Police say flames sparked at around 1:30 a.m. Crews quickly responded to the scene and were were able to knock down the fire in about a half-hour.

The blaze fully engulfed a 30-foot cruiser, destroying it. One other boat was slightly melted on its side, and marina officials say some of the docks sustained slight damage.

The Rockland County arson unit is investigating the fire, although they say it does not appear to be suspicious.
