Police: 3 stabbed over violent weekend in Yonkers

Polices say three people were stabbed this past weekend in Yonkers, and the recent rash of violence has residents on high alert.
One incident happened outside of El Cangrejo restaurant at around 2:00 a.m. Sunday. Police say an unidentified man was found lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds on Oak Street. He was rushed to the hospital.
Police are searching for a suspect who they say fled the scene. He is described as a light-skinned black male with a beard.
A man and woman were stabbed in two separate incidents that occurred in Yonkers earlier in the weekend, according to police.
Store owners like Joshua Baek, who owns a Laundromat down the street from where the latest stabbing occurred, are noticing a disturbing trend.
"It's very uncommon but it seems the streets have been getting more dangerous," he says. "For the past four years, police had it pretty well-regulated up until recently."
Deputy Chief Frank Cariello says there are now efforts in place to make Yonkers streets more safe. In a statement, he says the police department is "deploying additional resources to the affected areas in response to these incidents."
