Police stun hatchet-wielding man with Taser

Police say a hatchet-wielding man is under arrest for threatening two women in Sleepy Hollow early Wednesday morning.

They say Doanny Gonzalez and her friend were on Beekman Avenue at around 1 a.m. when a 43-year-old village man threatened the women in front of the Huddle Bar.

The women found 2 police officers and asked for help.

Officers apprehended the suspect at the El Mango Bar in Cortlandt Street, about five blocks from the Huddle Bar.

Police say he had two knives in addition to the hatchet.

Police say he asked them to shoot him. The suspect allegedly dropped the first knife but would not drop the second, so police stunned the suspect with a Taser.

He was charged with menacing and disorderly conduct.
