Former pediatrician sentenced on child porn charges

A retired pediatrician who once practiced in Wallkill for 30 years has been sentenced to more than five years in prison after pleading guilty to federal child pornography charges.

Prosecutors say Daniel O'Hern, 65, was sentenced Tuesday to 63 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release and fined $12,500.

O'Hern pleaded guilty in April to distribution and possession of child pornography.

Prosecutors say O'Hern used a public file sharing program to post pictures and videos of children between the ages of 5 and 12 engaged in sexual conduct with adults. Authorities say they found images and videos of children being sexually exploited on computer devices in O'Hern's home in June 2014.
