Ex-Nyack coach faces sex abuse charges

A former Nyack College Women's softball coach was arraigned Wednesday in Rockland County on additional charges related to his sex-abuse case.

Kurt Ludwigsen now faces felony counts of coercion because prosecutors say he told players that their scholarships would be revoked if they spoke up. Ludwigsen was originally charged with harassment, inappropriate touching and sexual abuse.

Ludwigsen was arrested in March for allegedly molesting his female players over a period of five months. He had already been facing more than 90 counts of sex-abuse charges.

His attorney is asking that the new charges be dropped because he says the defense didn't receive proper notice about the charges.

The school fired Ludwigsen, who is currently free on about $15,000 bail, in March.
