Body recovered from Hudson River
The body of an apparent suicide victim has been recovered from the Hudson River.
Police say they received reports of a 21-year-old Beacon man jumping off the Dutchess County side of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Tuesday afternoon.
Officers from the state police, aviation, marine units and scuba divers scoured the river and banks for five hours. The body was transported to Long Dock Park in the City of Beacon and turned over to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner's Office.
The case is still under investigation. The man's identity has not been released at the request of the his family.
