21 Yonkers students rewarded for perfect attendance

Students at one Yonkers school were rewarded for following through on their pledge to not miss one day of school.

Twenty-one students from School 17 made a pledge in September with Mayor Mike Spano. The mayor told students that anyone who attended all 182 days of school would be rewarded, and he made good on that promise Monday. The kids were treated to pizza and given certificates.

The students say it wasn't always easy getting out of bed to come to school, especially with the bad winter storms.
