Dirt bike rider slams into 3-year-old

A little boy who was hit by a dirt bike in Mount Vernon yesterday has been released from the hospital.

Police say a dirt bike rider hit and injured a 3-year-old boy on the street in front of the child's grandparents' house at 353 South 1st Ave. The little boy was treated for a head injury and released from Mount Vernon Hospital.

Neighbors say the rider took off on foot after slamming into the child.

Police are still searching for the rider.
