Security guard arrested after shots fired in New Rochelle

One person is under arrest and a man is in the hospital after shots were fired overnight in New Rochelle.

It happened at the Elks Empire Lodge on Lincoln Avenue just before 3 a.m. Police say an argument started between patrons and security guards that led to the gunfire.

Officials say a security guard fired his weapon into the floor to clear a disorderly group. Fragments of the bullet hit a 39-year-old New Rochelle man who walked himself to the hospital.

The security guard has been charged with reckless endangerment.
