Dog featured in video becomes viral sensation

A 1-year-old Labrador from Croton has become an overnight YouTube sensation after a video featuring his creative problem-solving skills went viral.

Theo is the mascot and guard dog for Jennifer Rutheny's jewelry and sculpture store in Croton. Rutheny says Theo likes to take walks with her to the Croton arboretum. She says he always likes to carry a stick on their walks.

However, last month Rutheny says Theo took a very large stick on their walk. She says she knew it was too big for him to carry over the bridge they usually cross so she whipped out her cellphone and started recording.

Theo's work to get over the bridge with the stick proved to be quite funny so Rutheny posted it to YouTube. The video went viral with millions of people watching and sharing.

Rutheny says she is still shocked by how many hits the video has received. She says despite his fame, Theo has remained grounded.
