Memorial grows for child who died from gunshot wound

A memorial with balloons, flowers, candles and messages continues to grow for a 4-year-old Yonkers girl who died last week from a gunshot wound.
Makayla Manners died Friday after accidentally shooting herself in the face last Monday night.
Police are still investigating how Makayla got her hands on the semi-automatic gun. The weapon was recovered inside the second-floor apartment on Walnut Street.
Sources tell News 12 that the gun was not registered to anyone in the home. There are also conflicting reports as to who was in the house when the gun discharged.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced yet, and a cousin is trying to raise money online for her services.
There is no word yet on if anyone will be charged.
