Fireworks show surprises Greenburgh residents

People living in Greenburgh got quite a scare Sunday night after an unannounced fireworks show went off in their neighborhood.
The Metropolis Country Club on Dobbs Ferry Road in Greenburgh had a permit for Sunday night's fireworks, but never notified neighbors of plans to light up the sky.
"I was inside the house, so when I heard them, I was like, 'Oh my God! Gunshots!' So I ran to get my kids," said Geenburgh resident Mayelin Reyes.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said that his inbox blew up with angry emails.
"One person said they thought it was World War III, somebody said they thought it was a missile attack," he said.
Feiner says that from now on, he will urge businesses planning fireworks displays to provide advance notice to the community.
