Police: Teen beaten, abducted in front of cameras
Yonkers police say a teenage girl was abducted violently off a busy city street.
The confrontation occurred around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at South Broadway and Radford Street in Yonkers.
The victim was standing at the corner when a dark-colored Nissan Altima approached, police say. Police say they believe the driver and the victim may know each other.
According to officials, the young woman was brutally assaulted and then possibly abducted. Surveillance video caught the car's driver and a passenger forcing the girl into a car, but investigators have been unable to identify the victim or the suspects.
The portion of the video showing the assault was not released to the media, presumably because it's too graphic.
More video shows the victim walking with another man shortly before the car arrives. Police say it's unclear whether he's involved, but the video shows him looking on as the assault unfolds.
The whole attack was captured by the camera, but it appeared to have happened so quickly that none of the employees working nearby say they heard or saw the actual assault.
