A man was stabbed multiple times early Sunday morning in Mount Vernon.

The incident happened on Homestead Avenue.

Resident Herbert Smith woke up when he heard men arguing outside. He says that when he stepped outside, he saw his grandson bleeding from multiple stab wounds. The victim's cousin then called police at around 12:30 a.m.

The victim, who is in his early 20s, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Smith says his grandson is doing well after undergoing surgery. He is now in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
