Peekskill Police Department gets new alert system

The Peekskill Police Department now has a faster community alert system.
The new system allows the department to make "robo" calls to deliver messages to the entire city or targeted areas. It uses the "code-red" communications systems to make high-speed notification calls.
Officials say if your name is in the system and there's an emergency you will notified immediately.
Chief Eric Johansen, of the Peekskill Police Department, says that the new alert system will likely be used in the event of a water main break, weather emergency, missing persons or crimes in progress.
