Wet weather brings flood concerns in New Rochelle

Monday's downpour had many New Rochelle residents turning to professional waterproofers.



According to the city manager, Westchester County has given the city a grant for a flood mitigation project.



For residents like John Pastor, it can't come soon enough. He says that poor maintenance contributes to the flood problem, and so do winter remnants.



"The ground is frozen, it's thawing, with all the snow, then the rain, it's too much for the brooks to handle," he said.
