Police: Shots fired in Mount Vernon stairwell

Police rushed to an apartment building in Mount Vernon Thursday night after reports of shots being fired in a stairwell.



News 12 has learned that the incident took place at around 9 p.m. at 60 Mount Vernon Ave., which is a two-story residential building.



It is unclear if anyone was shot or if police have made any arrests.



Mount Vernon Avenue near North High Street was closed off to traffic due to the police activity.
