MTA fare hikes to take effect this weekend

Starting this weekend, commuters in the Hudson Valley will have to pay more to get around.

Fares on Metro-North and all MTA buses and subways are going up on Sunday.

Bee-Line rides will also see a fare increase since the Westchester bus service is part of the MTA's MetroCard system.

A single fare on the subway or bus is going up a quarter from $2.50 to $2.75. As for Metro-North train riders, fares are going up about 4 percent.
