Police search for man who robbed New Rochelle store

Police in New Rochelle are searching for the masked man responsible for holding up a convenience store in broad daylight Thursday.

Police say the robbery happened at Jessica's Newsstand on North Avenue near Northfield Road. According to police, the suspect demanded cash from a store employee. Owner Raj Shaiker says he believes the thief made off with about $2,000.

The worker says he was scared so he handed the money over. The owner and his employee say nothing like this has ever happened.

Police are investigating, but unfortunately the surveillance cameras in the store were not working at the time.
