Accident snarls traffic on Bronx River Parkway

Two people were taken to the hospital after a car accident this afternoon at the intersection of the Bronx River Parkway northbound and Leewood Avenue.

Officials say the crash occurred because one of the drivers ran a red light, resulting in a T-bone collision. Police are still investigating which driver is at fault by running the light.

Traffic stayed backed up for miles while the accident was cleared. Neither driver?s injuries are said to be life-threatening.
