Md. man drowns during White Plains family barbecue

A Maryland man drowned in a pool during a family barbecue over the weekend on Old Mamaroneck Road.

Police say Lamont Taylor, 42, told friends he was going for a swim. It was seven minutes later when somebody realized he was at the bottom of the pool, authorities say.

He was taken to White Plains hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are awaiting autopsy results, but they say it appears to be an accidental drowning.
