Yonkers firefighters put out several fires

Firefighters put out numerous fires in Yonkers this past week.

Officials say there have been four fires in the past four days in Yonkers.

Fire officials and witnesses say in all four fires, firefighters were on scene around five minutes after the fire was reported.

According to the Fire Union President Jose Carballo, the first engine to put out the latest fire was one that was slated to be shut down last year.

Carballo says these are clear-cut examples of why no fire houses should close due to the Yonkers budget crisis.
