Hundreds without power after fast-moving storm

East Main Street in Shrub Oak is still covered with downed trees and power lines after a fast-moving weekend storm knocked out power to hundreds, and left behind some serious damage.

A big tree is still laying on top of a power line near the United Methodist Church on East Main street, which remains closed after the weekend storm.

More than 300 Con Ed customers are still without power in the area. Lake Mohegan Fire District Chief Joe Mayer says that he's been told it could anytime within the next couple days that power is restored.

"Con Ed is working all over the district," Mayer says. "This is the worst, and this will be out for we're told anywhere from 24-48 hours."
