WC real estate developer hosts free BBQ for veterans

A Westchester real estate developer hosted a free barbecue today to honor United States Army veterans returning home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Organizer Alfred Weissman, who served in World War II, joined with the Fort Drum USO to create the event at Weissman?s company?s headquarters at 120 Old Post Road for 10 wounded soldiers and their families.

The cookout wraps up a three-day getaway of New York City sightseeing and programs set up for the veterans before they return to their base in Fort Drum.
