Fatal stabbing near Peeskill M.S. forces lockdown

Peekskill police say that an argument between two men led to a fatal stabbing yesterday morning, forcing the nearby Peekskill Middle School into emergency lockdown.

The attack happened around 8:30 a.m. on Ringgold Street near Elm Street in Peekskill, across the street from the middle school.

Police are unsure what lead to the argument just before the stabbing. They did say that the two men involved are not related but were at the same house at the time of the attack, although the victim was just visiting.

Police say they have the suspected attacker in custody, and that he is likely to face criminal charges.
