Port Chester voters make history

Port Chester voters made history this week as they elected the first-ever Latino trustee in the village's history using a system of cumulative voting.

Luis Marino will represent the village as its first-ever Latino trustee. The other five trustees include Bart Didden, Daniel Brakewood, John Blanca, Joseph Kenner and Sam Terenzi.

A federal judge ruled that Latino voters had been discriminated against in the village, prompting the utilization of the cumulative voting system which allows every voter to cast six different votes.
