Hundreds attend W. Plains cop funeral
Hundreds of cops, family, and friends are expected to descend on Yorktown today to pay tribute to a White Plains police detective who died in the line of duty over the weekend.
Funeral services for Detective Michael Perry are being held at the Saint Patrick's Church in Yorktown Heights.
Perry died of an apparent heart attack with his family by his side after collapsing outside of police headquarters. He had just arrested a career criminal with more than 300 arrests.
Route 35 was closed from the Route 202 intersection all the way to Ridge Street from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. for the services today. The road closure was expected to affect traffic going to and coming from the Clark Funeral Home. Yorktown police are asking anyone visiting the funeral home to park in the Triangle Shopping Center across the street.
