Westchester Red Cross honors local heroes

The Westchester County chapter of the American Red Cross held its annual Community of Heroes Breakfast at the Rye Town Hilton yesterday morning.

Among those honored was Stephanie Crispinelli, 19, who was killed in the Haitian earthquake while working on a relief mission in the island nation.

Other honorees included the Scarsdale High School track team and girls? junior varsity basketball team that collectively raised over $20,000 to help the victims of the earthquake.

Yonkers Police Officer Kevin MacDonald was also honored for saving an elderly man trapped in a submerged van off the Bronx River Parkway.
