Survey shows unemployment largely unchanged in HV

New numbers from the state labor department show that unemployment in the Hudson Valley is largely unchanged, while first-time claims for unemployment benefits are on the rise nationwide.

The jobless rate in Westchester went unchanged from April to May, remaining at 6.6 percent.

Putnam County also remained unchanged at 6.4 percent.

Orange County was also unchanged at 7.6 percent.

Rockland County saw the only minor hike in the area, jumping up to 6.6 percent in May.
