Group offers help to struggling homeowners

There is new help available for homeowners who are struggling to make payments on their mortgages.

Community Housing Innovations is looking to help homeowners fast track loan modifications that could mean the difference between being foreclosed on and remaining in their home.

Anyone who is falling behind on a mortgage from Bank of America or Countrywide Financial can get face-to-face assistance over the next three days.

Interested homeowners must call ahead and make appointments. Call HUD Counseling at 1-877-483-2686 or United Way's help line at 211.
