Armed robber hits Yorktown jewelry store

Police say a brazen robbery was carried out in broad daylight at a Yorktown jewelry store yesterday.

Lt. Kevin Soravilla says the robber took cash and jewels after pointing a pistol at the owner of Yorktown Jewelers.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 50s or early 60s with grey hair. He has a stocky build and walks with a limp. He was last seen wearing white shorts and a blue polo shirt, police say.
