Board seat up for grabs in special election

Westchester voters are gearing up to elect a new member of the county's Board of Legislators during a special election today.

The seat was formally held by Democrat Vito Pinto, who quit to join the Republican administration of Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.

Greg Varian is hoping he can retain the 10th Legislative District for his party and fend off a challenge from Eastchester Councilwoman Sheila Marcotte, a Republican.
