GOP's Sheila Marcotte selected to county board

Residents voted for Republican Sheila Marcotte to replace a Westchester County Board member who is now working for County Executive Rob Astorino.

Marcotte was declared the unofficial winner with 58 percent of the vote after 98 percent of precincts were tallied.

The 10th District seat, which encompasses parts of Eastchester, Tuckahoe and New Rochelle, was made vacant when Vito Pinto resigned as its representative in April to join the Astorino administration.

Marcotte, who served as Eastchester town councilwoman, ran against Democrat Greg Varian.
