Victim critical after Yonkers Laundromat shooting

A 19-year-old man is still in critical condition after being shot in the chest yesterday morning inside of a Yonkers Laundromat.

Police say the victim was found with a large gunshot wound to his chest after the shooting inside of Andy's Laundromat on Willow Street near Poplar Street in Yonkers around 10:30 a.m. Authorities say the shooter walked into the business while the victim was doing his wash, pulled out a gun, and opened fire.

The Laundromat is across the street from the Enrico Fermi Performing Arts School.

Police say the shooter may have fled the scene in a vehicle, but that specific information was still being withheld pending an investigation.

Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to call Yonkers detectives at (914) 377-7724.
