Yonkers PD: Murder victim owed millions in debt
Yonkers police say that a 31-year-old man found shot in the head in a hotel parking lot was in some serious financial trouble at the time he was murdered, and owed as much as $4 million in debt.
Bronx businessman Thomas Stiglianese was co-owner of a company that had just filed for bankruptcy. He was also part owner of a Waller Avenue building in White Plains, and a Lake George miniature golf course which also filed for bankruptcy in March.
Stiglianese was found face-down in a pool of blood in the parking lot of the Yonkers Royal Regency Hotel, where he had been staying. Stiglianese had been shot execution-style in the head.
Police are still unsure of why Stiglianese was staying at the hotel. No arrests have been made.
