Team USA wins final group play match

Team USA has advanced to the next round of the World Cup after defeating Algeria in the final minutes of their final group play match today.

Landon Donovan netted the winning goal with about three minutes of stoppage time left in the match.

About a dozen soccer fans gathered at the Copacabana Steak House in Port Chester to root for Team USA. Many of them had their sights set on Edson Buddle, who was born in New Rochelle and played for Port Chester High School.

"It's great to see that this young man has grown up and matured and become a professional soccer player," says Buddle's former teacher Edward Waite.
