Man shot dead in Yonkers apartment building
Police are investigating a shooting in Yonkers that left one man dead, making it the second murder in the city this week.
According to authorities, Jermaine McCallum, 31, was gunned down in the lobby of 106 Locust Hill Ave. at around 5 a.m. He was taken to Saint Joseph's Medical Center, where he later died from a gunshot wound to his face.
Police say McCallum doesn't appear to be involved in any drug or gang activity. Sources tell News 12 a love triangle may be behind the murder.
The victim's mother, Sheryl McCollum, says her son was a hard-working man who was looking for a job after being laid off. McCollum leaves behind a young son.
