Arrests net AK-47's, other high-powered weapons

Yonkers police say that several different types of deadly automatic weapons are now off of the streets after a four-month investigation and the arrest of two brothers.

Cops arrested Anthony and Gustavo Rivera after they say that an undercover officer bought six high-powered weapons from the brothers over the course of just four months.

Yonkers Police Commissioner Edmund Hartnett says that the weapons seized aren't ordinary weapons, and include a .357 magnum with a scope on it. Hartnett also believes that the brother's were likely selling to more people than just the undercover officer.

"We would be foolish to think we were their only customers," Hartnett says.

Anthony faces up to 60 years in prison, while his brother Gustavo faces just 45 years. Both are currently in custody at the Westchester County jail.
