Police: 2 bogus cops invade Peekskill home

Police are searching for two suspects who they say broke into a Peekskill home this morning while posing as police officers.

According to investigators, the suspects burst into an apartment on Fremont Street at around 9:45 a.m. and tied up a man while a 6-year-old child looked on.

Chief Eugene Tumolo, of the Peekskill Police Department, says the perpetrators then went on to ransack the home in search of drugs and money.

Police say neighbors heard the attack and called 911. Cops say the suspects fled the apartment to a waiting car and sped off.

Tumolo adds that a neighbor interviewed by police spotted a suspicious car on the block prior to the home invasion, but failed to report it.
