Upper Grandview couple spots coyote

As the hunt for coyotes continues in the Hudson Valley, an Upper Grandview woman says she spotted one of the animals outside her house.

Arlene Lederman says she saw the coyote from her window last week. The sighting happened just hours after she says her husband found a dead deer on their property.

Lederman says she's worried about the safety of local children.

Coyotes have already attacked two young children in Rye over the past week, and yesterday, a Yonkers police officer said he came across a coyote.

Wild animal sightings aren't uncommon in the area. Last summer, black panthers were reported at Tallman State Park, and in May a black bear was spotted in a tree in Pearl River.
