Son of accused spy seeking help with lawyer fees

The son of a Yonkers woman accused of being a Russian spy says that his mother and her husband are both innocent, and is now seeking donations to help pay for his parents' legal fees.

Waldo Mariscal says that his mother, Vicky Pelaez, and her husband, a man known as Juan Lazaro, are not spies.

Pelaez, a journalist, will be under house arrest at the families Clifton Avenue home beginning tomorrow.

Federal investigators say that Lazaro has already admitted that Juan Lazaro is not his real name, and that he worked for the Russian Intelligence Service.

The Yonkers couple remains in federal custody.
