Coyotes spotted in South Nyack area

Police in the South Nyack-Grandview area have confirmed a number of coyote sightings in the area this week but have stopped short of issuing alerts to the public at this time.

The Reingold family reported a coyote in their Treeline Terrace backyard in Upper Grandview yesterday around 11 a.m. The Reingolds captured a video of the animal when it returned several hours later around 1 p.m.

Cops say a coyote was spotted walking through the backyard of a home at 115 South Highland Ave. in South Nyack around 11:45 a.m. Saturday. The same coyote was then believed to have walked across the street to Nyack College on Route 9W.

Police believe the same coyote was spotted running around the same area of Route 9W early Monday morning.
