Yonkers residents want fireworks cleaned up

Yonkers residents are wondering who?s going to clean up the mess left after an unauthorized fireworks show was held in Homefield.

Evidence of the fireworks that streaked across the sky Sunday night littered the ground of a community park the next morning. Garbage and empty fireworks boxes have residents wondering if the park is safe for kids.

Neighbors say they don?t know who puts on the show and they don?t know who will clean it up either. Homeowners are hoping the Parks Department will pitch in, but its offices are closed for the holiday until Tuesday.
