Police: Bronx man let dog die in 140-degree car

Yorktown police arrested a Bronx man after his dog was found to have died while tied up in a parked car at the FDR state park.

Cops say Heriberto Palacio left his Maltese pet inside of a van with the windows rolled up while he went swimming with his family on Monday.

Responding officers used an instant-read thermometer to determine that the temperature inside the van was at 140 degrees when the dog died.

Palacio now is now facing animal cruelty charges for the dog's death.
