White Plains fire leaves clear devastation

The devastation from a five-alarm White Plains fire was clear today after a White Plains restaurant went up in flames.

The fire started yesterday afternoon at the Bengal Tiger Restaurant and quickly spread to four other businesses on East Post Road.

David Friedman, who owns a sporting goods store nearby that escaped unscathed, says he has offered to let those burned out by the blaze use his store to regroup.

"There isn't anybody that can associate with them, or feel what they're going through," Friedman says. "Obviously I'm not going through it, but I feel like I'm going through it with them."
