Sentencing day set for HV man convicted of New Year's murder

A sentencing day has been set for the Putnam County man convicted earlier this month in the murder of a popular Garrison garage owner.

Anthony Grigoroff, the only person who has been convicted in the murder of John Marcinak on New Year's Eve 2008, is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 14.

Prosecutors say Grigoroff, his twin brother and a friend were looking for a place to rob the day of the killing, and fatally shot Marcinak when he discovered them at the garage he owned.

Grigoroff faces 25 years to life in prison.
