Push to designate HV as bio-tech hub could bring jobs
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was in Greenburgh this week as a pharmaceutical company unveiled not only a new logo for their company, but a new name for a specific portion of the Hudson Valley.
Regeneron is one of more than 60 bio-tech firms based in the Lower Hudson Valley and yesterday, officials there unveiled a new name for the bio-tech heavy region.
Officials at Regeneron say they hope that "New York Bio Hud Valley" will become as common a name as Silicon Valley.
Westchester's Economic Development Director Larry Gottlieb says that it's about time the region was known by one name. "Having a thriving bio-tech cluster without a name is like calling Superman 'the guy who flies around in blue underwear.'"
