Stewart-Cousins, McLaughlin face off in debate for state Senate

Incumbent Democratic state Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Republican challenger Liam McLaughlin faced off in a live debate yesterday on News 12 Westchester.

In the debate, the two discussed a variety of issues, including the economy, jobs, and taxes.

The debate's tone mostly focused on Stewart-Cousins defending her legislative record in Albany and McLaughlin speaking about bringing changes to Albany.

The debate was not without controversy, as Stewart-Cousins had to address allegations that she accepted campaign contributions from developers who were linked to a failed Aqueduct Casino contract.

Election Day is Nov. 2.
