Tea party rally held in W. Plains for election preps

Local tea party activists gathered in White Plains yesterday en masse to drum up support for their candidates and get their message out with only days before the November elections.

About 100 people listened to speakers rally the crowd against what they call rampant liberalism, congress and the Obama administration.

Activists say the government has betrayed them, and they want to make major changes at the polls next week.

"We're just trying to get our country back," said Jon Coolong, of the White Plains tea party. "Back on the right track, the right principles, to get the country back to the way it was, for our children, our grandchildren."
