WC native killed by alleged drunken driver in Tampa, Fla.

A Westchester native was struck and killed by a prominent Florida dentist over the weekend who police say appears to have been drunk at the time of the crash.

Police say Douglas Kozar, 23, was walking back to his car after working a late shift at a Tampa Marriott when he and another co-worker were struck by Mathew Moye. According to investigators, Moye apparently lost control of his black Cadillac.

Kozar was killed along with a 23-year-old female co-worker in the crash. Moye is facing a slew of charges, including manslaughter and vehicular homicide. If convicted, Moye faces up to 30 years in prison.

Kozar graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School. His family is planning a wake on Wednesday in Yonkers and a funeral service on Thursday in Hastings.
